Cautions/Drug Interactions/Contraindications

Garlic can have a blood-thinning action. It should be avoided prior to surgery or while taking Coumadin or other blood-thinning medications. If you are taking heart medication, consult your licensed health care practitioner before taking herbal medicines containing hawthorn. If you are taking blood thinners, such as Coumadin, or blood pressure-lowering drugs, consult your licensed healthcare practitioner before taking coenzyme Q10 and vitamin C.
Certain medications may interact negatively with vitamins and supplements or cause nutrient depletions. Please see your doctor before taking nutritional supplements if you are currently taking medication.
